HOFATEX insulation panels

Hofatex insulation panels are made from natural raw materials without the use of bonds. With their properties, they meet all the criteria of environment-friendly construction materials and they are the complete replacement for commonly used insulation materials, such as mineral wool or polystyrene.

They have the universal application in various construction structures. Thanks to their properties, they provide architects, civil engineers, construction work executors as well as private builders with the whole range of advantages when thermally insulating new buildings, during reconstruction and re-development of old objects.

Hofatex Therm provides for the optimum combination of thermal protection in winter and the protection against excessive overheating of the interior spaces during summer heats. From amongst the most frequently used insulation materials, fiberboards have the highest thermal capacity. By absorbing the heat they efficiently prevent the overheating of attic sections used as residential premises.
In an interior, the building structures with fiberboards provide for the pleasant climate by balancing the moisture differences similarly as solid wood. On contrary to wood, they have several times better thermal insulation properties and they transmit water vapour from structures better.

In addition to thermal insulation, Hofatex Therm panels are intended also for the protection against spatial noise.

1. Since they are the environment-friendly products.
Just natural raw material - wood is used for their production. No bonds are added to the boards for bonding wood fibres during the production process.

2. Since its production does not strain environment and it is fully recyclable.
Environment is not strained during their production and the input raw material for their production - wood is sustainably renewable raw material. They are produced according to EN 1317 and EN 622 standards. Their quality is tested in the well-known testing laboratories. Hofatex insulation boards are completely recyclable - they may be combusted or safely composted.

3. Since it has excellent thermal insulation and sound-proof properties.
Thanks to very good thermal conductivity (λD = 0,038 W/m.K) Hofatex insulation boards are capable of the minimisation of thermal leaks via the construction structures, thus they reduce the costs of heating.

4. Since it has the best thermal capacity of all commonly used insulation materials.
High accumulation ability of Hofatex insulation boards - specific thermal capacity c = 2100 J/kg.K efficiently protects against the excessive overheating of the internal spaces and provides for the comfort of the internal environment of buildings in summer months.

5. Since it is vapour permeable.
Hofatex insulation boards (diffusion resistance factor µ = 5) are diffusionally open and the sufficiently allow water vapour transition. This prevents water vapour condensation in the structure and the functionality and life of the structures is thus ensured.

6. Since it is able to balance environment humidity as the natural wood.
Similarly as solid wood, the Hofatex insulation boards have an excellent absorption property. They are able to very quickly absorb humidity from ambient air and to deliver it back if necessary. They significantly contribute to the balanced humidity climate of the internal building environment.

7. Since it has excellent sound-proof properties.
The porous structure of Hofatex boards contributes to their excellent ability to absorb a wide spectrum of sounds. They are suitable for the provision of sound-proof and footfall-proof building structures.

HOFATEX insulation panel application

Slanting roof
Thickness of the insulation layer made of Hofatex Therm panels is conditioned by thermal and physical requirements posed to the slanting roof thermal insulation. The decisive criterion is the value of heat transfer coefficient U of the structure and the value of phase shift of heat due to summer heats. In our place, thermal insulation of buildings is dealt with by STN 73 0540 standard specifying the standard values of heat transfer for various building structures. The most efficient thermal insulation of a slanting roof using Hofatex Therm panels is thermal insulation above roof spars while placing at least two layers of panels with different thickness. Heat leaks in the roof spar area are minimised using this method.
Insulation panels are characterised with homogeneous structure and dimensional stability, whereby it is possible to create an excellent homogeneous insulation layer. A special triangular formate of Hofatex Therm - DK is suitable for thermal insulation among the roof spars. The individual pieces should be wedged next to each other between the roof spars and just the protruding parts of triangles should be cut. They may be used for thermal insulation of various crevices and narrower sections.

Perimeter wall
Perimeter coat participates in all thermal losses of buildings to the greatest extent. Hofatex Therm is suitable also for perimeter wall insulation under suspended (vented) facades, as well as for internal partition walls. In addition to thermal insulation, the panels excellently play the role of sound insulation. The hygroscopic properties of raw material used for the production of panels (wood) act as air conditioning system in the structures - they balance the humidity differences between environments. Upon the temporary increase in panel moisture, no shape changes occur.

Floor
Volume weight of Hofatex Therm panels provides for a high compressive strength, thanks to which it is possible to apply insulation panels in both hard and light-weight sprung floors. They fulfil a thermal insulation function there while efficiently reducing noise level.
